General info: The Altterra Wines winemaking company brings a new breath and international recognition to Armenian winemaking with its activities.
The company is part of the Swiss Schuler Kellerei holding, one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Switzerland, which has a history of over 300 years. Combining their centuries-old experience and the exclusivity of the Armenian terroir, we create wines that combine European techniques and Armenian grape varieties.
Our vineyards are located in Areni, in the heart of Armenian winemaking. The total area of the vineyards is about 100 hectares, which makes us one of the largest grape producers in the region. Here we cultivate Armenian indigenous varieties: Tozot, Khatuni, Spitak Areni, etc. You can familiarize yourself with the assortment in the attached file. Altterra Wines winery has been recognized as the winner of the prestigious “Greater Caucasus” nomination of the Top100Wines rating program, which is organized annually by the Russian edition of Forbes. Two of the company’s wines have received the highest recognition:
Noa Areni Reserve Limited Edition 2021 (91.5 points) won the “Best Wine of Armenia” nomination — ranked 3rd in the overall “Greater Caucasus” rating.
Noa Natural Sweet 2020 (91 points) won the “Best Dessert Wine” nomination — ranked 8th in the overall Top50 rating.
Following the principles of organic farming and with the support of Italian consultants, we provide raw materials of exceptional quality. As a result, our wines have already won gold medals at international competitions and high marks from wine lovers.
